Pedal for Pennies
We want families to get out and ride! The 2 Mile Family Ride is the perfect distance for cyclists of all ages. This route, conveniently located around the Heartspring campus in northeast Wichita, will have full safety support and a tasty snack at the end.
As you're gearing up for the Family Ride, come by Heartspring and grab a piggy bank for your very own Pedal for Pennies campaign. Heartspring provides over $200,000 in financial aid to families who can't afford the full cost of therapies. What better way to teach your child the importance of giving than encouraging them to help other children? This event is dedicated to helping children with special needs receive occupational, physical and speech therapies not covered by insurance. Although Pedal for Pennies is the name of the campaign, we'd love to see some dimes, quarters and dollars, too!
So gather your family, get healthy, take in some fresh air and make a difference.
Schedule of Events
- 9:30 – Pour the Pennies Ceremony
Watch your money grow as you pour your pennies in our giant piggy bank to help children with special needs. - 9:45 – Safety Presentation
Make sure your bike is in top condition before you take off on the ride. It's very important to know and follow all the rules of the road while riding your bike. - 10:00 – 2 Mile Family Ride
Have a great time riding with your family and friends on a fun two-mile route around the Heartspring campus. - 10:30 – Refreshments and Award Ceremony
Quench your thirst and enjoy a snack following the ride. We'll also have awards for our top Pedal for Pennies fundraiser.
**T-shirts and lunch are not included in the 2 Mile Family Ride registration. Both can be purchased for an additional cost on the registration page.
